Abstract

A systematic look at the dialogue between texts and the presentation of theories about the forms of their relationship with each other led to Julia Kristeva’s “intertextuality” and Gérard Genette’s “transtextuality”. This provided the basis for a systematic examination of the forms of reproduction of Persian literary works and their relationship to each other within the framework of these new theories. Thus, the author's authority in determining the unique meaning of the text collapsed and the reader's activism in the process of meaning-making increased. Of course, in the Islamic-Iranian rhetorical tradition, there are signs of attention to the relationship between texts; such as adaptation, plagiarism, assurance, response, contradiction, reference to legends and stories, irony, etc., and the poems of poets have interacted with each other in various ways. For example, in the ghazal of Ibn Hosām Khusfī (d. 875 AH), a famous ritual poet of the ninth century AH, there are signs of being influenced by the ghazal of Ḥāfeẓ Shīrāzī (d. 792 AH). It was valuable to systematically examine this issue using intertextual and hypertextual theories. With this intention and to discover the ways of reproducing Hafez's ghazal in Ibn Hosām's ghazal, the present study has been prepared as a developmental research, based on library resources and using a descriptive-analytical method.
