Examining the main features of Seyyed Ali Mir Afzali's poetry

Abstract

Purpose: Seyyed Ali Mirafzali (born 1969) is a poet and literary researcher from Rafsanjan, Iran. In addition to his poetic works, he has made significant contributions to literary research, particularly in the field of quatrain (Ruba’i) studies. In this study, the authors employ to examine the most significant poetry collections of this poet, aiming to identify and analyze the distinctive and outstanding elements of his creative talent and aesthetic sensibility, which can be regarded as key manifestations of his unique style.
Method and Research: The research method in this article is analytical-descriptive approach and the method of collecting information is documentary (library)
Findings and Conclusions: According to the findings of this research, Mirafzali’s artistic innovations and craftsmanship, which have given rise to his distinctive style, are predominantly evident in the realms of short poetry and Nimaic poetry. His innovations include the creation of poetic imagery inspired by the atmosphere of Japanese haikus, composing poems with the meter of quatrains in the form of “Se-lakhti (Se-gani)” (a specific poetic structure or three-line poetic form), the conscious and creative use of the musical potential inherent in Nimaic poetry, and the incorporation of social and critical themes blended with a witty and charming sense of humor. These characteristics collectively define Mirafzali’s poetic oeuvre.
