Throughout history and in the process of the formation of civilization and the course of governments, religion has played a significant role in national identity and strengthening it. Based on this, one of the important ambiguities of this research is that in the Sassanid era and with the attention and emphasis that this Iranian government had on Zoroastrianism, what effect and role did religion have in strengthening the Iranian identity? In this essay, using ancient historical reports and data from religious texts, through descriptive-analytical analysis, these results have been obtained: Considering the recognition of Christianity in the Roman territory and the invasions that threatened the Sassanid territory from the east, among the important measures that the Sassanids thought of and tried to promote it with propaganda and policies, was the emphasis on Zoroastrianism as an Iranian religion against other religions. Also, in advancing this policy, in addition to the foundation of places of worship and the establishment of Iranian colonies in Irani regions, the Sasanians launched a wide propaganda on the importance of official religion. Even by creating a schism between the followers of non-Zoroastrian religions and their co-religionists outside the borders of Iran, they tried to build some important minorities in Iran and solidarity between them and other members of the society.
